Add Sender

Once you log in to the portal, you will be redirected to the approved senders page under the sender management section. You can view all approved senders here. If your sender is not approved, you can go to the sender requests page and view all the in review and rejected sender requests.

To add a new sender, click on the "add sender" button and follow the steps below to submit a new sender request -

  1. Type all the basic details listed below and click on the "save and continue" button to move to the second step.

    1. Logo: The logo represents your brand identity and will be shown to end users in the truecaller app. Upload the official brand logo. Ensure that the logo is in PNG format with high resolution and 200*200 pixels.

    2. Display Name: The name that will be visible to end users as the sender of your messages. It should be short, clear, and directly associated with your business or service.

    3. Brand Name: The legal or registered name of your business or organization. This may be used for verification purposes and internal records.

    4. Category: Senders must be assigned a category based on the type of messages they intend to send. You can select from the following categories -

      1. Authentication: This category is used exclusively for sending authentication-related messages such as one-time passwords (OTPs), 2-factor authentication (2FA) codes, or secure login/transaction verifications.

      2. Transactional: This category is used for sending messages triggered by a transaction or a user's activity with the business. Typical messages include order confirmations, billing alerts, booking details, or account notifications.

      3. Promotional: This category is used to deliver marketing content, personalized offers, or promotional campaigns. This includes sales announcements, discount codes, product launches, or referral invites.

      4. Service: This category is used to engage users for support or service-related communication. This includes helpdesk replies, ticket updates, appointment confirmations, and post-sale support interactions.

    5. Industry: Select the industry that best represents your business from the dropdown menu. This information may be used for compliance, reporting, and personalization.

    6. Phone Number: Select the country code from the dropdown and enter a valid phone number.

    7. Number Type: Specify the type of number provided. It can be ILD or Ordinary(Domestic), based on its reach and usage.

      1. Ordinary (Domestic): Senders should be marked as ordinary if the brand representing it is considered domestic to the country to which they are sending messages. (Ex: If Brand A is based out of India and they are sending messages to their Indian customers, Brand A should register as an Ordinary sender)

      2. ILD (International): Senders should be marked as ILD if the brand representing it is not considered domestic to the country to which they are sending messages. (Ex: If Brand B is based out of the US and they are sending messages to their customers in India, Brand B should register an ILD sender)

Note:

  • A sender can be assigned to only one category. You should always send messages for the assigned category.

  • Non-compliance will lead to the disqualification of senders and also lead to a suboptimal messaging experience.

  • It is not encouraged to mix traffic through a sender, as this might lead to unexpected outcomes.

  1. In the second step, select all the required features and click on the "save and continue" button.

Note: Rich text messages and delivery reports are enabled by default. Rich media messages & 2-way conversations incur higher charges.

  • Send Rich Text Messages: Enables businesses to send rich text messages. This is read-only & selected by default.

  • Send Rich Media Messages: Enables businesses to send image files (e.g., JPG, PNG), video files (e.g., MP4) & documents or files (e.g., PDFs) to users.

  • Receive Delivery Report: Enables the business to receive delivery reports for messages delivered to users. This is read-only & selected by default.

  • Receive Read Report: Enables the business to receive read receipts for messages sent to users.

  • 2 Way Conversations: Businesses can receive and reply to texts and media (images, videos & files) from users.

  1. You will now be redirected to the final confirmation step. You can view all the details entered and review them as needed. You can add additional comments, if any, and then click on the "submit request" button to create a sender request. A sender Request is submitted successfully.

  2. It will take 1-2 business days to review the request. The sender requests can be tracked via the sender request page. Once the sender's request is approved, the daily messaging limit(tier limit) based on the category is assigned to the sender. You can view the approved senders in the approved senders page under the active tab.
