Category
A category defines the primary use case for which a sender is approved. Once a sender is mapped to a category, it is eligible to send messages only for that specific use case.
Important:
Category assignment is permanent. Once a sender is mapped to a category, it cannot be changed. To switch categories, you must:
Create a new sender under the required category
Delete the existing sender
Selecting the correct category is critical for policy compliance, message delivery, and user experience

Best Practices
Choose the most restrictive and accurate category for your use case.
Avoid mixing intents (e.g., transactional + promotional content). If the same sender is sending both the transactional and promotional messages, the sender will be disabled by the truecaller team.
Create separate senders if your business needs to send messages across multiple categories
