# What permissions do I have as a Department Owner for inviting new members?

As a Department Owner, you have the following permissions for inviting new members :

* Department-specific: You can invite other users to join your assigned department (For Example if you are the Department Owner for Dept1, you can invite another Department Owner to control the same).
* Hierarchical Control: You can assign new members as Operation Owners or Process Owners within your department. 

**Limitations**: You cannot invite users to departments that you do not own. For example if you are the Department Owner for Dept1,  you cannot invite user to other departments such as Dept2 and Dept3 mapped to your account.
